Poster Contest Rules & Criteria

Kickstart the AHEA Conference 2024 with our Poster Contest, an engaging event that sets the stage for the conference. This contest, held on Friday evening before the dinner and awards banquet, is a prime opportunity for students and professionals to connect, showcase their work, and gain recognition in the fields of Human Ecology and Home Economics. It's an ideal platform for highlighting innovative ideas and forging impactful connections at the outset of our conference.

Eligibility:

The student poster contest is open to current University students (Bachelor, Masters, Ph.D.) and recent graduates (2023) who have registered to attend the AHEA Conference 2024. It should be noted that the poster contest is not limited to students enrolled in a Human Ecology or Home Economics program.

The Fan’s choice poster contest is open to anyone registered to attend the AHEA Conference 2024.

Focus Area:

Activity with a research or practice focus in the field of Human Ecology & Home Economics.

Timeline:

  • Submission Deadline: March 8, 2024 @ 4pm MST New Deadline: Monday April 1st @ 4PM
  • Acceptance Notification: March 22, 2024 New Notification Date: Monday April 8th
  • Poster Setup: April 26, 2024, 4:30 - 5:00pm
  • Poster Session: April 26, 2024, 5:00 - 6:00pm
  • Winners Announcement: During the Friday evening dinner

Awards:

Winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) in each category receive a certificate and recognition during the conference.

Selection Criteria:

  • Clarity and Aesthetics: 25%
  • Presentation Skills: 25%
  • Originality: 25%
  • Scientific Merit: 25%

Adjudication Committee:

Comprising members from diverse fields in Human Ecology & Home Economics. Members with conflicts of interest will recuse themselves from judging relevant entries.

Poster Display Guidelines:

  • Size: Maximum 40” (horizontal, vertical, or square).

  • Setup: In the exhibition hall on April 26, 2024, between 4:30 and 5:00 pm.

  • Display materials to be provided by participants.

Submit through this online form. Include contact information, author(s) names and affiliations, poster title, and a 100-word summary.
